Big News...
I had a life changing event last Thursday. My boss called me early on Thursday crying. The company had decided to reduce the department by 50%. We were both affected. I wasn't surprised. I am relieved. I feel rejected. I am not sure what to do. I am attempting to figure out what will be best for me.

Nick, I don't know where you should work but I can tell you that you will likely come to view this as an opportunity. I was down-sized out of a large corporation several years ago and took the chance to do some freelance work. That, eventually, led me to the full-time position I have now - which is head-and-shoulders above the old corporate position in many ways. I wish you well - if you can (understanding that finances may be a big issue), take some time to really think about your next step instead of rushing into anything.
